If there is one thing you should know about my family, it is that we're NUTS!

You probably heard the phrase “you are what you eat”. Well, we eat a lot of nuts😁 But not too much as they contain a lot of fat and can contribute to digestive issues.

I stopped buying peanut butter for 2 reasons: we don’t like the taste of it and we don’t know what’s in it. I started making peanut butter 7 years ago, when we bought Thermomix (a very powerful blender that can cook too).

I was so lost when I first started. I didn’t know what nuts to use, where to buy them and wether I should add oil to them. No, you never ever add oil!!

Now I know everything I need to make delicious nut butter. First of all, you can use any nuts and you can mix them. I do it all the time for flavour and for different nutrients that can be found in different nuts. It’s especially good idea if you (or your children) are not big funs of certain nuts but you know they are healthy.

Where to buy nuts?
I would recommend bulk buying at Amazon or your local bulk store. I buy locally because I hate wasting plastic and our shop has great selection of organic nuts.

What nuts?
Unless you’re allergic, I would say mix and see what’s your favourite. I usually do cashew+peanuts+almonds or cashew+walnuts+peanuts. Sometimes I add chia seeds for extra crunch and nutrients, of course. Almost forgot, don’t buy salted nuts and choose raw or roasted type.

How to make nut butter?
Nuts go in a blender with generous pinch of salt (or not) and blend…for as long as you need to to achieve either crunchy or smooth consistency.

And that’s it!

Enjoy!

let me know if you have any questions or you made it and it turned out awesome!
